Working well again after repaired / replaced by Polar. No complaints.
UPDATE: I was ultimately able to get in touch with Polar. Mailed the monitor back to them and got it back fairly quickly. Not sure whether they repaired my defective one or replaced it. Have had no issues since the warranty honored – so upping my rating from one star. Definitely far prefer arm to a chest monitor. much more convenient.#####################Over the years i have had nothing but frustration with chest strap heart rate monitors, primarily related to the difficulty replacing the battery. Also a hassle / inconvenient getting chest strap on.So after reading many reviews & getting recommendations from friends, i bought this monitor. For three months, i couldn’t have been happier! Easy to get on / off arm before and after workouts (primarily Zwift rides on my Wahoo KICKR). Fit well even if i was wearing tightfitting long sleeve shirt. Paired easily via Bluetooth with Zwift app. HR data seemed accurate. Knowing that i could track my HR hassle free with this monitor even increased my enthusiasm for my Zwift workouts… And it was great having a rechargeable battery (see below re: THE AGONY of replacing batteries in Polar chest monitors). Then couple weeks ago, the device suddenly stopped working. At first i thought i had not charged it enough between rides. But after charging again overnight, no difference – green light on indicating battery fully charged – but would not turn on. And then NO RESPONSE from Polar despite contacting their Support online and via email multiple times and providing serial # for hy OH1+. Hence I am giving up now and writing this 1 star review… I really thought i had finally found the perfect heart rate monitor after all these years but I guess now it is back to the drawing board…P.S. re: chest montiors – i previously had three Polar chest heart rate monitors that worked to varying degrees for varying times. All eventually became unusable because repeated attempts to try to open the back with a coin ground down the plastic so eventually had no way to open to replace the battery.… All still functioning – if i could get a new battery in – but useless once could not put in a replacement battery.

    Excellent quality and long lasting
This piece of technology lasts and it’s a great way of measuring you HR and tracking calories if you’re into weight loss. Better than a Fitbit and sleeker also.

Mostly good until failure after 5 months – But, 3 days later: spontaneous resurrection]
Worked for 5 months[EDIT: 3 days later (today) it started working again. I noticed that it was flashing in the wall plug. Maybe it just needed a long rest after daily use for months?? 😉 Fingers crossed that this will last – I had decided to just do without an HRM like our ancestors – changed rating from 3 to 4 stars]Cheaper than some alternatives , but after a full charge overnight, quit during a workout and will not restart.Compromises I was living with: did not work for swimming, not compatible with Chromebook, just Mac and PC.I was pleased with the accuracy and convenience vs a chest strap (matched data from Morpheus). I had a Whoop for a couple of years, but arm movement gave wildly inflated HR readings (e.g. swimming and sprinting). The choice of two apps , Polar Beat and Polar Flow, was confusing ,but the Beat app seemed to work better overall with my Pixel phone. The GPS tracking on an Android phone for walking, running, cycling measuring route, pace, HR are great. Also nice that the apps are free.Overall, longevity is the biggest issue and I dread wasting hours with Polar support again. They were responsive, but gave detailed and irrelevant advice.II haven’t been able to find an armband HRM that has better reliability reviews.

    Simple and works great.
Pretty basic but it is exactly what I wanted to use with my Garmin edge 530. Paired up and is recognized immediately. Stays paired and doesn’t power off like my Skosche did. I like the armband and it’s not very bulky. I think it’s a great meter at this price point and worth consideration. Charger could be lost easily but I am mindful of that so I hope I don’t lose it.

    Malfunctions almost every time
Does not work well at all. Frequently will show a bpm of ~40 bpms too low and then eventually (usually after a few minutes) rocket back to where it should be. This happens almost every time I use it and ruins my average bpm reading for the workout. I got this to replace a heart monitor that I got 5 years ago and had used frequently and figured it was due for a replacement. However, I’ve gone back to using my old monitor cause this one is crap. See the attached photo from about 2 miles to 2.5 miles for an example of the malfunction.

Serves it’s purpose, cross checked with my Apple watch series 4, good consistency across the two.I find it useful to be able to track activities without my phone.

Very nice heart rate monitor. Didnt know they had optical one for your arm until I browsed around. And according to test reviews around the internet this seems to be the most accurate and stable one opitcal HRM in the market 2020.I initially had huge problem connecting it with my phone app Adidas run (runtastic). But once I installed Polar flow and used the pairing, as the manual said; it found the HRM immediately in Adidas run app. and I could delete the Polar app after pairing.Used it only twice sofar running and walking, the connection is SUPERSTABLE not a single drop.I wear it in my upper arm just below my biceps and it supersuprisingly comfortable, I dont even notice I wear it after a short moment.Powering on is easy, 1 short click on button and green light flash every 2 second or something. Light does not bother me at all as some other reviewer say, just wear it on the outer side of your body.Powering off also no hassle.Maybe Polar should have sent 1 extra spare armband? But time will tell how well this will last.I got a good deal during BF, just below 60 Euro so very good value. Current price at 78Euro might be a bit step but probably worth the money depending on what you want to use it for.For myself it already showed great value as I could keep a better steady state based on my heart rate while running, instead of just checking the speed.Only tiny con sofar, it dosent say how long it need to be charge before its fully charged in the manual.
