Magene Outdoor/Indoor Speed/Cadence Sensor for Cycling, Wireless Bluetooth/Ant+ Bike Computer RPM Sensor for Road Bike or Spinning Bike and Trainers Compatible with Onelap, Wahoo Fitness, Zwift
$16.99

[Battery] Remove the insulating sheet of the pre-installed battery before usage; re-install the battery to switch between the speed and cadence mode.
[Mode] 1 sensor can ONLY select one mode (Speed or Cadence) at the one time.So you need 2 sensors to test both speed and cadence.(1 for speed,1 for cadence)
[Device] When using the Bluetooth protocol 1 sensor can ONLY connect to 1 APP or device concurrently; When using ANT+ protocol it can be connected to multiple devices at the same time.
[Connection] When using a smart phone APP, you need to search for the sensor in the APP, searching through the phone system’s Bluetooth setting is invalid.
[Hibernation] S3+ sensor will automatically enter the sleep state for 1 minute to save power after the sensor is stationary, the sensor will ONLY start sending broadcasts after it is properly woken-up.

No complaints
Does the job, easy install 🤔 overall and I’m a first time sensor user. Durable, rain, sleet snow, No complaints 🤷🏻♂️

work fine but limited range – use on front tire
I have one Garmin 530 and 4 bikes. I have purchased a few of these. I have only used the speed function, not cadence. This is a cost effective way to add a speed sensor to multiple bikes. They pair easily with the Garmin. I have used them for a few months with no issues. The one issues is my Garmin sensors work fine from the rear tire, with these the rear tire is too far from the computer and it constantly disconnects and reconnects. Moving the sensor to the front tires has eliminated that issue. So they work fine for me but you have to use them on your front hub.

my sensor shows inaccurate cadence
sensor is dissapointing. after i received it i connected it initiallly and a couple of days later when i actually went cycling, the sensor wouldn’t connect so reseted it on the road and then it worked, that so far only happened once.the problem now though is that everytime i go cycling, i have not once received overall accurate reading with the sensor. to be precise, everyone once in a while the count would jump to 130+ and so on or drop completely and then it would do the same, but otherwise it would stay at or around the correct rate for some time but then it would mess up again temporarily, also in slight elevation it would just disappear for a short period, same as with some bumps but not all which i noticed last night. Because of the inaccurate numbers, my max cadence is way higher than it should be,i cant reach what it shows for even a second.i messaged the seller regarding this but no response at all, lucky for me i still have time to return it so i will just contact amazon in the next couple of days after i have found a replacement and return it.advice for anyone who wants to buy it, if you receive a good sensor, bless you, you got one for cheap, but if its bad or has issues, dont hold your breath for their reply. i understand now why their are some reviews regarding communication.my rating is for the accuracy -2* and drop in connection (elevation and bump -2*) of the sensor and not with the customer service at all, that would be lower

Beware of thickness
Great value. Picked this up for my other bike, so I don’t have to swap sensors so much…. Was originally bought for my wife’s bike, but due to the thickness, it doesn’t fit between crank and chainstay. It does work if my fattier bike.

Old stock needs new batteries
Received these on Wednesday. Installed on Wednesday and did short test and both seemed to work properly. Went for a ride on Thursday and one unit didn’t want to work. I checked my installation figuring maybe I made a mistake. Went for a ride on Friday and the first unit still did not work and the second unit failed during the ride. Brought both units inside and checked the batteries. Both read well below 3 volts. I replaced both. Reinstalled both units. One unit would not work in cadence mode but works well for speed sensing. Obviously I was aware of this because I wanted it for cadence so I removed both sensors and swapped them and reinstalled. After a short bench test both seemed to have found a home and my ride on Saturday was a real pleasure with both operational. The batteries had shipped with a plastic disk between the battery and the contacts in the units. The instruction suggest they should be good for 500H of use. Apparently these had been on the shelf somewhere too long. In addition, there may have been some form of leakage that caused the one unit not to be able to do the cadence function. In both units the red light is quite bright while the green is invisible in sunlight. The failing unit was a little less bright green suggesting that it has a problem somewhere.

Sensor and Wahoo app aren’t compatible, but Magene made good (as well as they could)
Update: Magene did (actually some time ago) offer to make good on this based on my review (money back or credit), so I can’t hold a grudge there. I’ve been through Wahoo app updates and sensor firmware updates since then hoping that this problem would resolve, but it has not. The device itself and the Wahoo app are not fully compatible. But if you find yourself in this spot, Magene will support you.Originally submitted a question, but perhaps better as review. Sensor arrived quickly, was easy to install and pair to phone per instructions. Using Wahoo fitness app in iOS, the sensor appears to give good data for cadence…but the app then no longer acquires speed and distance data…what happened? If I have to choose, I want speed and distance. To be clear, I understand that the sensor can only send speed OR cadence data…the issue is that collecting cadence data from the the sensor is somehow disabling the speed/distance data that the app normally gets from phone gps.Upon further review, the Wahoo app sees this sensor as a speed AND cadence sensor and is looking for two signals. Obviously, the sensor sends only one, and in cadence mode, the Wahoo is looking for speed, too. This causes speed and distance data to be n/a during the ride, even though gps data are collected in the background and available for review later. Don’t know how to remedy this…In further dialog with both Magene and Wahoo, they are pointing fingers. Magene says it’s an app problem and Wahoo’s solution is to buy their more expensive and single-function sensor. Ugh.

works perfectly with Garmin watch

So far excellent bike sensors linked to levyne bike computer within seconds easy to fit , couldn’t give sensors a full test as chain snapped 5 minutes in to ride but will fully test functionality when i fix my bike
