Store meals you want to save for later; microwave, dishwasher, oven safe (not the lids)
I’ve been having a dilemma about the need to use glass containers instead of plastic ones, because due to mobility issues I find the typical glass containers too heavy, and I’m afraid of dropping them. Then these came along, from a brand I’m familiar with via their plastic containers, and was happy to try them. They are actually a thinner glass (borosilicate) than my vintage glass containers, and I find them easier to use. This is a good set of different sizes and they have silicone gaskets to make them secure from leakage. Unfortunately, there are no directions in the box but the listing says to hand wash the lids, but dishwash the containers. They are good from -40 to 750 F, so you can use the oven and microwave (not the lids, though). They look durable, but have not broken one yet, so hope they aren’t the kind that shatter into small bits.So far, they’ve worked well in the refrigerator and the microwave. I want to try them for custard in the oven. Then you can just apply the lids when cool. What I like to do is cook a healthy meal with five servings that I can eat over the coming week or put in the freezer for later. These work for that. What pleases me the most is that the lids are easy to use, because I’ve tried other glass containers where the lids don’t stay on or pop open. Not these. They work fine. With the holidays coming, I will share a few (filled with dinners) with my adult children who might be interested in getting a start-up set for their new places. Forty-two bucks is acceptable for 12 containers that you know work well, and they’d make a useful gift you might not buy for yourself.

🥣✨ warning: may cause sudden urge to reorganise your entire fridge ✨🥣
i didn’t think i could form an emotional bond with food containers but apparently that’s who i am now.these freshware ones are elite. proper borosilicate glass, thick and clear, not that cloudy plastic that looks permanently tired no matter how many times you wash last night’s curry from them. they come in three shapes: round, rectangular and square, each nesting neatly inside the other like some sort of well-organised russian doll situation.i genuinely thought i was getting six containers and six lids (because i’ve been hurt before) so when twelve of each turned up i had to sit down. it felt like christmas but with portion control.the lids click shut with the confidence of someone who’s paid their bills on time. there’s a soft silicone lining that makes a perfect seal and i’ve stored soup sideways just to test it. not a drop escaped. no leaks, no suspicious fridge puddles, no betrayal.they’ve been through the freezer, microwave and dishwasher without a single crack or complaint. the real victory: no lingering onion or garlic smell haunting them afterwards. glass really said “i’m not absorbing your chaos.”the value for money is ridiculous. twelve sturdy, airtight, leak-proof containers for this price? i’ve paid more for a takeaway. they feel like something a smug lifestyle blogger would use to store their quinoa except you don’t have to remortgage your house to get them.they even nailed the presentation. each container snug in its own little cardboard frame, like glassware with a trust fund and padding, all designed by freshware. i actually kept those bits for future storage or moving which says everything about how well thought out it was.if your current container collection is a mess of mismatched lids and mysterious stains please upgrade. these will make your fridge look like it belongs to someone who meal preps on purpose.10/10 would emotionally overinvest again.

stackable, portion sized containers — so handy
Now that I have these, I am officially ready for the holidays. How many times do you take that stuffing or casserole dish out of the refrigerator, scoop a portion out and put it back in the fridge after the holidays? This year, I am doing things differently. I am making individual portion sized containers so that we can just grab what we need, put it in the microwave, heat it up, and eat. Plus, who has room in their fridge for a giant casserole, dish, anyway? Not me. These are fantastic because they have the secure and airtight clip closures on all four sides with an inner seal that keeps items fresh, not absorbing the odors of other items in your fridge or not emitting odors themselves. They are great for taking items for lunch in your lunchbox or sending something home with someone. You get so many of them, you won’t even miss it if one of them doesn’t get returned. One of the best things about these items is that you don’t have to worry about them leeching BPA into your food because they are glass, not plastic. They are dishwasher and microwave safe. They are also stackable when you store them in your cabinets, so they don’t take up as much space. They nest inside each other. Incredible value. I almost bought a namebrand version of these that cost a lot more and had fewer items. I am so glad I found these. Highly recommend.
