CAGIE Lined Journal Notebook for Men & Women,176 Pages A5 Medium Size Softcover Leather
The CAGIE Lined Journal is a medium‑size (A5, 5.7 × 8.3 in) soft‑cover notebook aimed at both men and women for use in writing, travel, business, work, and school. It contains 176 pages of 100 gsm thick, lined paper and is bound in a black leather‑like cover.**Pros**- **Durable cover:** The soft leather‑look material feels sturdy and protects the notebook against everyday wear.- **Good paper weight:** 100 gsm paper is thick enough to prevent most ink bleed‑through, making it suitable for ballpoints, gel pens, and even light fountain pens.- **Compact size:** A5 dimensions strike a balance between portability and writing space, fitting easily into backpacks, briefcases, and larger purses.- **Ample pages:** 176 lined sheets provide sufficient room for daily notes, meeting minutes, or journal entries without feeling cramped.- **Professional aesthetic:** The minimalist black cover works well in both casual and formal settings, suitable for business meetings, classrooms, or personal journaling.**Cons**- **Limited customization:** The notebook does not include features such as a built‑in bookmark, elastic closure, or interior pockets that some competitors offer.- **No perforation:** Pages cannot be torn out cleanly, which may be a drawback for users who need to remove notes or share them.- **Binding stiffness:** Some reviewers note that the binding feels slightly rigid at first, requiring a brief “break‑in” period before it opens fully flat.**Overall Assessment**The CAGIE Lined Journal delivers a solid combination of durable construction, quality paper, and a professional appearance at an accessible price point. It excels as a reliable everyday notebook for students, professionals, and travelers who prioritize a sturdy cover and smooth writing experience. While it lacks some premium add‑ons such as a bookmark or elastic band, the core features—size, paper weight, and robust binding—make it a practical choice for routine note‑taking and personal journaling. Good value at this price.

Travel-Friendly Lined Notebook with Thick, Pleasant Paper
I’ve been using the CAGIE A5 journal every day for the past few weeks. It has become my go-to for taking notes, making lists, and writing quick journal entries. The softcover is flexible enough to fit in a day bag without fear of damage, but it still feels sturdy, not flimsy. The 100 GSM paper makes a real difference: my gel pens and ballpoints glide smoothly across the page without skipping, and I haven’t noticed any bleed-through or feathering with the pens I use most. That alone makes it worth choosing over cheaper, thinner notebooks. The size is perfect for carrying around. It’s big enough for a decent paragraph or sketch, yet small enough not to feel cumbersome. The binding needed a short break-in period before it lay flatter, but that’s normal for a softcover. Now it works well for both left- and right-handed notes. The pages feel thick and pleasant under the pen, making daily use more enjoyable than dealing with thin, see-through paper.Build quality and finish matter for something you’ll use every day. This journal feels well made. The stitching and edges look clean, the cover withstands being tossed in a bag, and the paper’s weight provides a satisfying tactile feel. I’d say it’s durable enough for travel, work, or school without being bulky. In short, it’s a simple, reliable journal that doesn’t try to be fancy; it just does the basics well. If you’re looking for a portable notebook with high-quality paper that makes writing a bit more enjoyable, this is a solid choice. I’d buy another.

Lined journal
Lined brown leather like notebook/journal. I got this for my husband, he use notebooks for his work notes and he writes in a journal too. This is notebook perfect for his work notes to keep organized and make his goals. It would be ideal for those in your life who like to write on paper as well.

mediocre journal
As someone who writes a lot, I go through journals at a pretty good clip. So, I’m always on the lookout for new ones. I was impressed with how it looked like a nice, classy journal. Well, as we all know, looks can be deceiving. This journal isn’t nearly as nice-looking in person. The “leather” feels like plastic, the spine is extremely stiff, even after a week of writing, and the matching edges don’t really add anything to the aesthetic. I think having normal-edged pages would contrast the dark burgundy color better. The journal is a good portable size for putting in a purse or a small bag, and the paper seems nice and thick enough to avoid bleedthrough. But overall, this journal is just okay. For the price point ($14.99 when I ordered), I expected more.

pages a bit see through
This notebook is slightly wider than a Moleskine notebook (black, pictured). It doesn’t have an elastic loop to secure it closed or a pocket. It does have 2 bookmarks, which is nice. Each page has a date printed on top of each page, which is good for some folks (e.g., as a journal) but probably not desired by others. You can also see some of the printing through the page, although the paper in general feels great to the touch and is easy to write on. The page edges are dyed the same color as the journal, which gives it a high-end, classy feel. It came in a plastic bag with a plastic sleeve, so there was no damage to the book at all after shipping, and it can be stored without damage.

A nice notebook, but not fountain pen friendly
As a quick heads-up to any fountain pen users out there, this is not a notebook I would highly recommend, but may still be worth a look. Moderate showthrough, minor bleedthrough, a tiny amount of feathering with wetter inks, and it didn’t really show off ink shading all that well. That aside, very cool notebook for the pricepoint. From the luscious soft (as in pliable) cover, to the sprayed edges, and the unique attachment method for the dual bookmarks there is truly a lot to love about this notebook… especially at this pricepoint. A very “lux” feel, especially at this pricepoint. Wasn’t the best at lay-flat out of the gate, but it seems to be breaking in well.
