If you just need a jump rope to start becoming active this is a decent buy, it’s cost-effective, light, and adjustable. That being said you get what you pay for and it feels very cheap at the handles.

This is not a child’s jump rope, nor is it the ones you used in gym class in high school. This is more of an athletic level training tool. The “rope” is a thin cable with enough weight to get it going, and going fast. It has a surprising amount of inertia (translation: it hurts when it hits) if you are as uncoordinated as I am. I like to view it as motivation/coercion to learn to do it right.As someone who is advanced in age well north of 40, this has been an amazing tool to help me work out. It’s difficult, but yes it is helping with balance, coordination, and endurance.Great tool, good price.

Disappointed
What a hunk of junk. This jump rope it not fit for a child, let alone a grown adult. I returned this product immediately. I have never been so disappointed in a product i order from Amazon.

Not a speed rope in my opinion
First off the smell of this when opening this was overwhelming. No idea what this is made from but the initial smell is horrible.After letting it air out in the garage for a couple of days, I put this to the test. First off, calling this a speed rope is a stretch. There are not bearings in the handles, which you would find in a normal speed rope to help reduce the friction of the rope against the handles. This is just plastic on plastic as far as I can see.As for the rope itself, just seems to be a plastic coated wire. The plastic is quite soft and although I’ve only used this a few times, the wear on the rope is already started to show. I don’t expect this to last long term.Personally, I think there are much better made speed ropes on the market and this is about as low quality of you can get.
