Not for back, or arm-under-pillow sleepers, but it’s a really good pillow
I’ve been using chopped up gel pillows for several years now but, of late, they haven’t been doing as good of a job as they used to. I’ve started to have problems with something on the left side of my neck being out of place until I twist it back into place. One was the “My Pillow” brand, which I wouldn’t have ever bought if I’d known the owner/founder is a racist, and the other was from Big Lots (which is heavier). Thus, when I saw this offering, I had to get it!I’ve been sleeping with this for a couple of weeks now. I haven’t been able to sleep on my back for decades because of GERD and OSA, and I haven’t been able to put my arm under my pillow for almost as long, which took some getting used to because I have cervical spondylosis and my arm being there supported my neck (I think!).Let’s address a common misunderstanding that other reviewers have: the 2 included pillowcases are meant to keep the pillow stuffings from getting dirty, so I advise putting a standard pillowcase over that to make it easier to keep the included cases clean and, thus, the innards.Speaking of which, the top layer is a grid of some kind of rubber that provides both cooling through ventilation as well as the softness needed to enjoy a pillow. The layers under that are some kind of plastic mesh that will give a bit but also help with airflow. I’m at a loss to explain it other than it looks odd and somewhat home-made. Doubled cases will help protect from any prickliness from those lower layers which, BTW, can be stripped off if the pillow is too tall.If you sleep on your back you’re going to have a hard time with this, although removing excess layers might help somewhat. If you’re in need of good support to keep your head at the right height and support your neck, this is a good choice based on my experience as long as you keep your head positioned correctly.As mentioned, the pillow is on the small size, probably twin.If you’re someone who puts your arm under your pillow, it’s possible that doubling the casing will prevent you from getting pricked, but I make no guarantees!For myself, I’m very grateful to have this pillow, including because I no longer have to remember to fluff it up (which I often forget and then regret). 😉

Smaller than a standard pillow
I have trouble finding a comfortable pillow. I am a back or side sleeper, usually side, I have had a few fusions and sleeping on my back is too painful. I have tried many different cervical and other pillows and once I find one that works, I use it until it cannot be used any longer. My last favorite pillow lasted me almost 8 yeas and was a cooling, gel type pillow. I took this pillow out the box and let it sit for about a day. I truly thought it needed time to enlarge or whatever after being compressed. It felt like my old favorite pillow when I took it out of the box. It was a bit heavy, which my old pillow was too. I tried to sleep with this pillow a few times but it is much smaller than a standard pillow. I sleep with standard/queen size pillows, I have king-size pillows but purely decorative. I could not get this pillow comfortable beneath my head; I think it’s just because the pillow is so much smaller than a standard size pillow. I have a tendency to move positions throughout the night, and repositioning the pillow was just to difficult. It’s also not a pillow you can just toss off the bed in the middle of the night because of the heft. As many times as I tried to use this pillow, I could not adjust to it, I tried with you the pillow, with the pillow on top another pillow, even putting it in a standard pillow case with no luck. That being said, I even asked my husband to see if he thought he was comfortable and he didn’t like sleeping with it either.. I do care for my elderly mother; she’s an in-home hospice patient. She has a hospital bed, and I am always making sure she is comfortable, including pillow-wise. I will usually place a pillow beneath her head and ask her if she wants that one or the next one and switch them out; she did like this pillow on multiple days, after multiple times. It barely fits under her head but she doesn’t move positions in bed, and is bedridden. While I could not get comfortable with this pillow on multiple occasions, nor could my husband, my mother has repeatedly chosen this pillow and seems to sleep well. Since I could not use it comfortably myself, I cannot give it my full backing or recommend it.
