Tower 28 is one of my favorite brands right now, and their SOS Sunscreen is another product that I love. It’s well formulated to be a skincare and sunscreen hybrid that actually soothes and smooths my skin instead of making it feel dry and irritated.SOS is a mix of SPF30 sun protection and hydrating skincare benefits, featuring a barrier repairing blend of ceramides, glycerin, and sodium hyaluronate that moisturizes, plumps, and calms my skin. I usually react badly to sunscreens, but this one feels soothing and designed for sensitive, dry skin.The texture is unique, almost like a lightweight, bouncy gel version of petroleum jelly (don’t let that scare you off; this is a very comfortable formula). It coats the skin for a moment before melting in, and then there’s a tint that looks like foundation at first, but it blends out completely and also sinks into the skin. It even gives a subtle blurring effect that minimizes my pores and makes my hyperpigmentation less noticeable. The warm toned pigments mostly counteract any potential zinc white cast, but it works and has a very pretty effect without looking like I piled on foundation.Once on, this has a slight sheen and tackiness that fades within a couple minutes, leaving a hydrated, naturally healthy finish. I love that it’s fragrance-free and that it plays well with other products; it layers smoothly on top of my other skincare products, and it works under my Laura Geller powders without pilling or shifting. It fits right into my skincare and makeup routine.It’s rare for me to find a sunscreen that’s this comfortable and hydrating, and that heals dry spots rather than making them worse. Most sunscreen and foundation hybrids are much heavier than this as well, and more obviously a layer of makeup, where this is more subtle and like you just have naturally gorgeous skin.If you deal with dryness, sensitivity, or sensory irritation, this is one of the best daily sunscreens I’ve found. It protects, hydrates, and truly improves how my skin feels throughout the day. I highly recommend trying it.

not quite “silicone” texture, but not totally matte; the color blends/disappears on pale complexion
I’m kind of a sunscreen fanatic; I won’t go out without it on my face and neck, even in the winter. I do tend to step down from a minimum of SPF 50 to 30 or 40 once I’m out of the summer months, so it was good timing to give this a try.On the plus side, this is a mineral sunscreen, which I prefer over US chemical sunscreens. It doesn’t have a strong odor, and while it comes out looking like a dull putty type color, it blends/disappears into my skin (which is fair; I’m not sure how it would work on darker skin). It isn’t drying, and isn’t irritating.The texture is…interesting. It isn’t that full-on slimy silicone texture that never seems to dry and makes makeup impossible, but it doesn’t dry totally matte either. It is difficult to explain, but I will say that I have two classes of SPF: ones I’ll wear while I work outdoors when I still wear makeup, and ones I’ll wear when I really want to look my best. This is definitely a work sunscreen for me, not because it looks bad necessarily, just a bit more shiny (even under makeup) than my personal preference. It is a medium weight, not weightless by any means, but not thick or sticky.Overall, this SPF works well and has a great formula, but is a bit too shiny for me when I’m trying to wear my “look my best” makeup. It’s great for work days when I still want to look good but a little shine isn’t a big deal, and would probably be a good choice if you prefer a dewier look.

a sensitive skin friendly sunscreen…
love!this is an amazing sunscreen that is sensitive, dry and acne prone skin – friendly.it doesn’t have much of a scent which i was so stoked to find out about because i’ve found over time that a lot of unnecessary fragrance in skincare / makeup / sunscreen etc usually always ends up irritating my eyes.at first it has a light brown tint to it but it blends into the skin easily and there’s no perceivable color leftover afterwards (and that’s coming from a very pale skin girl).i didn’t look shiny, greasy, or sweaty after applying it either, it feels lightweight on the skin and i didn’t even feel that it was on once i finished applying.overall i’m becoming more & more of a fan of tower28 because of their high quality products and attention to detail and catering to a wide variety of skin types. i highly recommend trying out this spf 30 sunscreen, 5/5 stars.

No breakouts and feels so lightweight!
I am really happy with this sunscreen. The texture is amazing, lightweight, smooth, and super comfortable on my skin. I have acne prone skin, so I’m always careful with sunscreens, but this one has been perfect. It doesn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts. I also love that it’s water resistant but I wouldn’t use to go to the pool or beach since is just 30 spf, I prefer a higher spf for direct sun exposure, this is most like an everyday sunscreen for me.I really like how nicely it sits under makeup. It doesn’t pill, doesn’t feel greasy, and gives my skin a healthy, natural finish that makes my foundation look even better. It works like a great primer without trying to be one. I think I will be using this form now on!

Great consistency. Goes on smooth, absorbs well
Works well for me – I don’t need foundation, so a slight tint to even out my skin is perfect. If you plan to wear with makeup, this isn’t for you, because then you’ll need to accommodate your everyday makeup to blend it in. Consistency is smooth and absorbs readily with no tackiness or residue common to drugstore / big box brands. No white cast or pilling. If you use moisturizer or toners, put that on first, then the sunscreen, then blush / powder on top. I don’t recommend concealer with this. It’s only SPF 30, so reapplying is tricky if you just plan on sitting out on the beach all day or on bleachers at a game.
